What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipper/Receiver position at Bericap SC LLC?
Bericap is a privately held family-owned company founded in 1926, and is one of the leading manufacturers of plastic closures for food, beverage and industrial markets. Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, hourly, opening for a Shipper/Receiver reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor.
The purpose of this role is to complete daily operations of shipping and receiving, and production support safely and efficiently. This will comprise of; shipping finished goods, receiving raw materials, and production support.
General Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
- Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
- Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
- Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
- Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for duration of shift
- Develop, implement, and support Continuous Improvements Programs
- Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
- Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
- Duties as assigned per Warehouse Supervisor
Shipping Responsibilities:
- Monitor outbound loads and facilitate loading, both scheduled loads and overflow from the previous shift
- Load outbound trucks to customer specification with proper securement
- Strictly follow FIFO when loading or staging customer orders
- Ensure loading order according to appointment times
- Stage future outbound loads
- Verify that all outgoing shipments are properly packaged, comparing items and quantities against supporting documents
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out correctly and filed in the proper location
Receiving Responsibilities:
- Check in all inbound loads using the check in sheet
- Ensure all paperwork is correctly filled out and filed in the correct location
- Verify the Certificate of Compliance for all inbound raw materials
- Ensure all inbound material is received in to the proper systems
- Offload and place into stock using FIFO
- Follow all company work instructions depending on load type
Production Support:
- Put away WIP and Finished goods into their respective storage areas
- Ensure that no finished goods are left in drop off areas longer than 24 hours
- Ensure all production lines are stocked with the materials needed to operate
- Keep the print cell stocked with WIP following documentation given by the production supervisor
- Ensure the print cell discharge conveyor is emptied and product is put away
Skills:
- Employee must have good mathematical skills, oral/written communication skills, and computer skills
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
Experience:
- 2 years shipping/receiving experience is preferred
- 2 years Powered Industrial Vehicle (standup and sit down) experience required
- Excellent organizational skills
Shift:
12 Hour Night Shift (7PM-7AM) working a 3-2-2-3 schedule.
$3.00/hr NIGHT shift differential hourly base rate
