SUMMARY
Paragon Professional Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Commissary Accountant in El Paso, TX.
Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION
Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)
- U.S. Citizen or LPR;
- Not currently employed by federal agency/active-duty military.
- HS Graduate or GED.
- Meet physical/health requirements for duties.
- At least one year of administrative/clerical experience
- Ability to timely and accurate reports on Word and Excel Formats
- English literacy and ability to write reports in English
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
- Ability to review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance; compile data and information for reports; compose letters and memoranda; explain policies and procedures.
- Ability to accurately enter and / or retrieve information from various computer systems and/or programs in a timely manner
- Ability to maintain accurate records, logs, or other documentation as required by the position.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to proof own work.
- Ability to prioritize work.
- Ability to perform other clerical duties such as filing, answering the phone and/or compiling correspondence.
- Ability to type.
- Knowledge of general office policies, procedures, and practices
- Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Skill in the use of office equipment including computers and various software applications.
- Performs routinecomputer relate duties including data entry and retrielval.
- Maintains inmate accounting records and orders as it pertains to the inmate commissary account
- Successfully complete all assignments to duties as directed specifiactions ,within specifications, wihtin specified timeframe and budget as directed and in accordance with agency policies and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Job is performed in a warehouse and kitchen setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- No supervisory responsibilities.
