Summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Shareholder Training Coordinator to provide administrative support and coordination for various shareholder training programs, including internships, leadership development, and job training initiatives. The Shareholder Training Coordinator will work closely with the Shareholder Training Supervisor to execute and improve these programs, ensuring they meet BSNC’s goals and objectives. This role will involve recruitment, outreach, logistical support, and program tracking to ensure seamless and effective training experience for shareholders and descendants.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist the Shareholder Training Supervisor with the coordination and execution of the BSNC summer internship, leadership development, and job training programs.
  • Provide administrative support in the recruitment, application processing, and onboarding for training program participants.
  • Coordinate the logistics for training events, including scheduling, materials preparation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with program communications, ensuring participants receive timely and accurate information regarding program expectations, opportunities, and resources.
  • Track participant progress and performance in the programs, providing ongoing support and feedback as needed.
  • Help develop and maintain participant records, including application materials, evaluations, and training outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Shareholder Training Supervisor to improve and refine training programs based on feedback and program assessments.
  • Assist with organizing networking events, career fairs, and other activities to support program participants’ growth and professional development.
  • Provide support for the development of training resources, such as guides, materials, and presentations.
  • Assist in preparing reports on program outcomes, tracking milestones, and supporting the assessment of program success.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Shareholder Training Supervisor.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in business, human resources, customer relations, or event coordination.
  • Verified shareholder, descendant of a shareholder, or spouse of a shareholder of BSNC.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid state driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics

  • Knowledge of training and development processes, including job training, leadership development, and internships.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including shareholders, descendants, and other team members.
  • Ability to assist with the development and improvement of training programs and resources.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to work independently while following guidance and working as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with the BSNC mission and the Bering Straits region’s culture and history.
  • Strong time management and planning skills.

Preferred

  • Experience coordinating or assisting in the execution of internship, leadership, or job training programs.
  • Knowledge of ANCSA, Alaska Native history, culture, and organizations.
  • Familiarity with professional development resources

Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required for in-person events or outreach activities.
