Perform all work tasks in a safe and timely manner and according to company policies and procedures. Perform corrective and preventive maintenance in an industrial environment, repair production/facility equipment, non-contractor installation of utilities and equipment. Maintain and respond to facility’s Fire and Burglar systems, general up-keep of the facility and assist as a liaison with outside services. Will be a member of the site’s emergency response team. Periodic overtime is required.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshooting, calibrations and service on machines, pumps, motors, facilities equipment, and building systems, including HVAC units.
• Rebuilds pumps and other production equipment. Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary. Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance. Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Minor electrical troubleshooting and installations (outlets, switches, and lights)
• Plumbing work: run copper lines, pipe threading, repair & install plumbing fixtures
• Work with CMMS system entering and closing WO’s and entering equipment and PM to CMMS system.
• Compliance with all relevant FDA, SQF and OSHA procedures and regulations. Maintain a neat and orderly work area at all times.
• Follow all safety rules and SOP’s, while maintaining clean and organized work area with an accident and on-the-job injury free record.
• Properly complete documentation including maintenance forms and equipment logbooks.
• Perform other maintenance work as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
Education & Experience:
• Vocational/Technical Schooling and/or Training in one or more maintenance crafts (plumbing/mechanical/electrical).
• Must have a good mechanical aptitude and have good verbal and written communication skills.
• 2 years of maintenance experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment
• Troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment (i.e. Pumps, Mixers, Motors etc.)
• Minor electrical troubleshooting and installations (outlets, switches, and lights)
• Plumbing: copper pipe, pipe threading, soldering, use of Pro press tools.
• Knowledge of welding is a MUST, HVAC systems and lean principles a plus.
• 2 years of work experience executing work tasks in a P.M. Program.
• Basic Computer Skills.
Work Environments:
- Will work independently or as part of a team depending on the task or project. Conduct repairs, maintenance and other work as scheduled by the Maintenance supervisor and/or Senior Maintenance person.
