Berkeley College is currently seeking highly qualified and motivated part-time instructors to teach in the Justice Studies Department to teach our Intro to Justice course at our New York City location and to support our vision of becoming the college of choice for students pursuing lifelong success in dynamic careers and employers seeking graduates prepared to meet the demands of the global marketplace. This position currently sits at the New York location. Berkeley College has an enriched and diverse student population across our New Jersey and New York locations.
In this position, you will play a vital role in teaching and mentoring students, creating an engaging learning environment, and helping them develop the necessary skills to pursue lifelong success in dynamic careers.
The current openings are for onsite teaching in Fall Semester, 2024.
Classes begin on October 29, 2024, and end on December 14, 2024.
Meets Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 AM - 9:15 AM.
Salary Range: $3,105 - $3,420 per course/semester.
Position Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Justice Studies, or other related degree and other appropriate credentials, if applicable.
• Demonstrated success in teaching at an institution of higher education.
• A willingness to travel and teach at multiple campuses across NY and NJ, if applicable.
• Ability to teach classes during the day.
• Experience using technology and interactive electronic materials to support teaching and learning.
• Experience using a Learning Management System such as Canvas.
Responsibilities:
• Teaching courses following a detailed lesson plan that emphasizes active student engagement and project-based learning.
• Creating an inclusive and positive learning environment for students, fostering a sense of community.
• Communicating complex subject matter clearly and concisely to a diverse range of learners.
• Providing timely feedback and mentoring to students in person and via email.
• Ensuring assignments are graded on time.
• Completing administrative tasks within specified deadlines.
• Facilitating class critiques to encourage collaborative learning and constructive feedback among students.
