What are the responsibilities and job description for the Faculty – Allied Health Surgical Department position at Berkeley College 2?
Berkeley College, with campuses located in the New Jersey metropolitan area, seeks highly qualified and motivated instructors to teach within the Allied Health – Surgical Department to include the Surgical Technology and Surgical Processing Technician programs.
The ideal candidate will support our vision of becoming the college of choice for students pursuing lifelong success in dynamic careers. The position includes teaching theory and laboratory skill classes at our Woodland Park, Newark, and/or Woodbridge, New Jersey locations. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching and advising students
- Improving student outcomes by utilizing a variety of instructional delivery methods, including technology and other innovative approaches
- Maintaining and submitting appropriate individual student records
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required: master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required. Individuals must have a minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
- Additional certification such as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician(CRCST) preferred. Individuals with at least 1 year of experience working at a medical facility in the sterile processing department are preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build successful relationships with student populations, are also required.
Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000 per year
