The Berkeley College Office of Military and Veterans Affairs (OMVA) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Assistant to support the department's daily operations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about serving military-aligned students and veterans while contributing to a supportive campus environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Process and distribute debt letters promptly.
- Maintain and update the Veterans Data Page as necessary.
- Conduct scheduled outreach to new and readmitted students.
- Organize and coordinate OMVA orientation sessions.
- Review graduation queries against student accounts to confirm eligibility for grading out in the Enrollment Management (EM) system.
- Assist with account resolutions by contacting the VA and utilizing the "Ask a Question" tool.
- Support departmental projects, surveys, and initiatives as assigned.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Advisement, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Admissions) to address military-aligned student needs.
- Complete School Certifying Official (SCO) training and perform tasks including certifications, Yellow Ribbon requests, processing withdrawals, adjustments, and terminations.
