GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
The Drug Screening Technician is intended to support the case managers in regard to the drug screening needs of their clients. The Drug Screening Technician is responsible for providing drug screens to designated clients and maintaining efficient communication with case managers regarding results. The Drug Screening Technician can be characterized as someone who understands substance use and co-occurring/co-existing disorders; the varying manifestations associated with such disorders and is detail oriented. The Drug Screening Technician will obtain urine and/or oral specimens from designated clients and maintain proper chain of custody required by laboratory.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.

- Perform drug screens for designated clients.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding drug screening results and client records.
- Maintain proper chain of custody documents.
- Maintain web-based system for tracking drug screen results for clients.
- Maintain sanitary conditions in drug screening room, and rest rooms.
- Document and report results.
- Maintain cleanliness of office including, but not limited to, trash removal, sweeping and mopping of floors.
- Assist with transportation for clients as scheduled by case manager using county vehicle.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate degree in relevant field.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
- Strong interpersonal skills and convincing abilities.
- Ability to maintain records, make oral and written reports and assessments to case management staff.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Possession of a valid Driver's License.
- Special interest and enthusiasm towards helping individuals overcome their addiction problems.
- May be required to evenings and Saturday morning.
