Job Summary and Essential Functions
THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED ON OR AFTER APRIL 7, 2025
This position typically provides the appraisal and listing of all real property, whether exempted or not, except real property required by law to be assessed by the Department of Revenue and property owned by the federal government, state government, County government or any of its political subdivisions and which is exempt from property taxation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Appraises and lists properties for taxation.
- Performs Damage Assessments.
- Maintains records and statistics.
- Discovers properties not listed.
- Performs annual ATI revaluations.
- Maintains accurate assessment ratios.
- Completes five-year Reassessment programs as required.
- Represents the County before Appeal Board and Administrative Law Court.
- Tracks and updates all Deed / Plat records.
- Attends or conducts continuing education courses, seminars or in-service activities.
- Coordinates with other departments within the County for tax purposes.
- Manages staff, preparing work schedules and assigning specific duties.
- Provides assessments to Auditor / Finance for taxation.
- Attend County Council and other job related meetings.
- Performs continuous edits and auditing of records to assure quality is maintained.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires the employee to reach, pull and push with hands and arms; stand; use hands to handle, feel, finger or operate objects, tools or controls; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use mental acuity and repetitive motion; and walk, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Conditions
The work is regularly performed in a dynamic environment that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities and needs. Normal operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm with the ability to work flexible hours when necessary. Must be able to attend evening County Council meetings and various social functions as requested. Scheduled hours / days, job location, duties and any other information contained herein is subject to change. May be required to work extra hours and to perform extra or different duties during emergency situations.
