MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Current Certified Central Service Technician with a nationally recognized organization.
EXPERIENCE:
1. One (1) experience as a Central Service or Sterile Processing Technician
2. Experience with surgical instruments/implants.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Satisfactory completion of a medical terminology course.

1. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of work practice for Surgical Services.
2. Assists Surgical Services Manager in ensuring integration of Surgical Service Department Policies and Procedures with National Standards of Practice, Joint Commission Standards and other applicable and other regulatory standards.
3. Works with SSM to develop Surgical Service PM plan in order to identify issues/problems and to develop action plans to resolve problems, improve outcomes and exceed customer expectations.
4. In conjunction with SSM and CE, trains staff to provide competent care through development, implementation and ongoing evaluations of competency based orientation, education and evaluation programs.
5. Provides data in relation to environmental factors which inhibit or facilitate patient care.
6. Provides SSM with data to plan and monitor service line budget, enabling service line to function within budgeting constraints.

2. Able to bend, stoop, reach and be capable of normal rotation, standing and walking for an 8-12 hour shift.
3. Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and pushing loaded carts weighting in excess of 200 pounds.

Additional Job Description:
Monday - Friday 2pm - 10:30pm
Weekend and Holiday coverage as needed.
