Job Details

  • Stepdown nursing position at Berkeley Medical Center
  • PCU / Stepdown unit with 20 private beds
  • Involves managing patients on various drips and monitoring cardiac conditions

    • Job Requirements

  • BLS (AHA) certification required
  • ACLS (AHA) certification required
  • Submission requirements include an unexpired copy of the candidate's driver's license
  • Must be outside 50 miles from the facility
  • Previous permanent candidates must be gone for 2 years
  • Previous travelers must be gone for 2 years

    • Schedule Information

  • 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM or 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays may be required based on unit needs
  • Schedule requests must be entered at least 2 weeks in advance

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Unit has a ratio of 1 : 5 for both day and night shifts
  • Common diagnoses include elevated troponin, NSTEMI, and post-surgical patients
  • Orientation period of 1-2 days depending on experience

    • Additional Details

  • COVID vaccine required; exemptions available for medical or religious reasons
  • Unit has a floating Charge Nurse between floors
  • Navy blue scrubs required with specific guidelines for attire
