What are the responsibilities and job description for the Study Abroad Student Ambassador (Federal Work-Study) position at Berklee College of Music?
In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements :
- Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
- Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
- Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
- Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
- A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
- Federal Work Study student may apply.
- In good disciplinary standing.
- Must be located in the U.S.

The Study Abroad Student Ambassador supports the mission of the Berklee Study Abroad office by providing peer advising, outreach, and promotion of study abroad programs. This role is ideal for students passionate about global education, mentorship, and community engagement.
This job requires federal work-study eligibility and U.S. domestic status.

Program Goals
Provide one-on-one and small group advising to assist peers with study abroad planning and questions.
Act as peer community connectors to enhance support programs and promote student engagement.
Learn and practice interpersonal communication, advising, and mentoring skills to prepare for global citizenship.
Promote the Study Abroad program through tabling, classroom visits, and events to increase awareness and participation.
Conduct personalized outreach to students preparing for or returning from study abroad, fostering a supportive community.
Collaborate on creating social media and other promotional materials to highlight study abroad opportunities and experiences.
Contribute to special events, such as International Education Week and Study Abroad Day, to showcase the program's offerings.
Participate in training sessions on advising, mental health first aid, and study abroad essentials to ensure effective peer support.

Each week, Ambassadors will be available in the Student Success Center for drop-in peer advising during designated times each day
Similar to the SAMs program, Study Abroad Ambassadors will also be available for a certain number of scheduled peer advising sessions each month for any student who wishes to meet with one of them specifically
Individual outreach with a specific group of outgoing students during the months leading up to their departures for an upcoming semester abroad
Berklee Study Abroad will periodically have tables, staffed by Student Ambassadors, in the lobbies of 150 and 160 Mass Ave, as well as other relevant locations, to increase the visibility of Berklee Study Abroad on campus and encourage student engagement.
The Associate Director of Study Abroad will schedule class visits every semester to each first-year LENS class; a Student Ambassador will accompany that visit presentation whenever possible.
In collaboration with the Study Abroad Student Assistant, the Student Ambassadors will produce relevant content regarding study abroad.
