Responsibilities
This Underwriting position will support new business production as part of an assigned underwriting territory. They will help manage the assigned underwriting territory(s) to achieve profitable grown, including underwriting new business and performing internal marketing to our Agent partners. This position will help identify new business opportunities and manage existing agency relationships. The Underwriting position is a unique opportunity at Aspire as this role helps manage and support the new business flow for both small and middle market.
We will be looking to fill two roles at this level - they can be located in our offices or remote for a highly qualified candidate.

Specific Duties
- Review and Underwrite new business submissions for acceptability according to authority granted.
- P r ovide detailed issuance instructions to ensure policy is delivered consistent with quoted terms and conditions and in accordance with established guidelines relative to policy constructio
- M ake sound risk and pricing decisions that achieve profitable loss ratios.
- M a i ntain underwriting quality score of 90% or greater. Document underwriting file to support acceptability and pricing in accordance with company guideline
- Evaluate, accept, reject or modify risks within established underwriting guidelines and authority. Comply with company policies, procedures and rating plans when evaluating and managing risk.
- Recognize and create cross-selling opportunities for other company products.
- Participate in territory team marketing calls, video conferences, and agency visits as appropriate
- Operates according to underwriting authority as granted by Underwriting Leadership
- Promptly responds to internal and external customer inquiries in a fast paced environment.
- In a team environment monitor the territory workload and make appropriate adjustments as needed to ensure the team is meeting the demands of the assigned territory in an efficient manner.
- Operate across silos to meet territory demands in a team environment. The ability to be flexible and collaborate with team members will be key to success in role.
- Work with Underwriting Leadership to ensure underwriting objectives are being met.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
May perform other functions as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3 plus years related insurance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Insurance coursework or designations a plus.
- E&S underwriting experience preferred.
- Must have strong customer service background in a professional environment.
