Responsibilities
At Berkley Technology Services (BTS), we employ the ServiceNow platform to support workflow task automation across the enterprise. And as a Co-Op on the IT Service Management (ITSM) team, you’ll play a direct role in supporting the daily use and continued evolution of ServiceNow within our environment. You’ll work side by side with our team’s software engineers and business analysts, IT support teams, and end-users within BTS and the broader W. R. Berkley family of companies to support system enhancements, testing, and technical support needs that directly impacts our delivery of systems and services across the enterprise. - Participate in design, development, and implementation of solutions on the ServiceNow platform
- Create and/or update documentation in the code library
- Perform quality assurance testing on enhancements developed by team peers
- Troubleshoot and resolve break/fix issues that arise within ServiceNow
- Participate in the AGILE SAFe software development life-cycle processes
- Registered undergraduate student pursuing a major in an IT-related degree with a preferred overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- At least two years of college or university coursework completed; previous work experience may substitute for education
- Demonstrated usage and understanding of web- based user interface, i.e. ordering from Amazon
- Hands on experience with scripting and programming (JavaScript, SQL, WMI, SSIS ETL, XML, HTML, and web services such as REST/SOAP APIs)
- Familiarity with Windows, UNIX, and Linux operating systems, a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Experience in requirements gathering, including experience in creating process documentation using MS Visio, a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Must be able to communicate with technical and non- technical individuals and teams
- Self-motivation to learn new and unfamiliar technologies and/or tasks
- Prior co-op, internship, and/or on or off-campus experience preferred but not required
