- Lincoln, NE
- Luverne, MN
We offer a hybrid work schedule with 4 days in the office; and 1 day remote where it makes sense to do so.

We'll count on you for:
- Risk Assessment & Pricing: Accept, retain, and price standard to moderate commercial property and casualty insurance risks in line with established guidelines and delegated authority.
- Collaboration: Partner with lead underwriters to classify and price risks accurately, ensuring profitable growth within your assigned territory.
- Renewal Evaluation: Assess renewal risks and endorsements by examining business operations, classifications, contract forms, account information, claims experience, loss control surveys, financial reports, and risk acceptability.
- Decision Making: Prepare quotes, accept, and price accounts that meet risk selection criteria. Determine renewal or cancellation of accounts within your authority.
- Relationship Building: Develop and maintain professional, productive relationships with our agency force to promote profitability and growth. Assist agents with risk information and billing inquiries.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
What you need to have:
- Knowledge of underwriting principles and policy forms
- Ability to analyze insurance risks to determine the degree of acceptability and pricing
- Ability to evaluate and recommend solutions to work-related problems
- Verbal and written communication skills to interact with all level of internal and external contacts
- Strong desk management skills, ability to multitask, independently organize work and prioritize competing demands and requests to complete tasks within required time constraints
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and company business systems
- Ability to travel occasionally in assigned territory
What makes you stand out:
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- Commercial rating experience desired.
- Completion of or working toward AINS, AU or similar designation
- Demonstrates strong business acumen and critical thinking skills
- Adept to fast-paced and changing environments
