Responsibilities
The Underwriting Intern will train with key team members to learn and participate in the process of underwriting and servicing renewal accounts for the development and retention of our Energy or Environmental Lines business.
Qualifications
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree; all majors, a focus in Risk Management and Insurance is preferred.
- GPA of 3.0 and above required.
- Rising Junior or Senior student is preferred.
- Interest in enhancing classroom learning through practical career-related work experience within the industry.
- Some prior work experience is preferred.
- Career Interest in Underwriting/Excess and Surplus Lines.
- Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proven attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be a collaborative team player and ability to relate and communicate with all members of the organization.
- Basic knowledge of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
