Responsibilities
We have an opportunity for an AVP, Property Claims Manager to join our Berkley One team! This role is a key contributor to our Berkley One brand, responsible for holding staff and independent adjusters accountable for quality handling and resolution of property claims including complex, high exposure claims in a timely, professional manner with emphasis on providing quality service.
This position can be based in our offices in either : Wilmington, DE or Morristown, NJ

Key functions include but are not limited to :
- Pro-actively manage the team members' claims inventory to comply with key performance metrics
- Ensure that Adjusters deliver exceptional customer service to meet the needs of the insured, agent and all internal and external customers
- Perform administrative functions such as performance reviews and time off reporting
- Assist with the training of internal and external adjusters on Berkley One best practices and processes
- Appropriately assign first party claims
- Identify and address coverage issues
- Approve reserves in excess of Adjuster authority
- Manage catastrophe response management
- Review and approve Denial and Reservation of Rights letters
- Establish strong relationships within the broker community to promote our brand
- Collaborate with other parts of the organization including Sales, Marketing, Underwriting, Risk Management, Actuarial
- Perform other duties as assigned
