Salary Range: $21.55 - $41.65
Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.
Location: Hybrid - In-office requirement of 3 days a week at Blue Bell, PA - 1787 Sentry Pkwy W #200
Purpose/Objective:
The Commercial Credit Underwriter analyzes and summarizes commercial applicant financial statements to facilitate lending decisions for average credits and vendor arrangements. Assists in preparation of credit-related reports for approval.
Key Accountabilities:
- Intended as an entry-level role toward a Credit path, the FTE analyzes and spreads financial statements and tax returns to assess the financial condition of existing and new borrowers and their financial viability. Analyzes and assesses trends, ratios and cash flow. Assess the adequacy of collateral.
- Prepares concise written reports identifying industry concerns, market share trends, financial trends and other pertinent underwriting issues to present to the approving Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
- Primary validator of data sources to the Loan Origination Systems and other CRM platforms to ensure correct and accurate KYC/KYB and workflow efficiency.
- Obtains and reviews financial data from the credit file or outside sources, determines additional information and investigation needs and contacts appropriate sources to ensure a complete financial overview for analysis.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and duties as necessary to ensure department objectives are met. May assist Portfolio Managers in conducting annual reviews of existing clients. Assists in department objectives by determining to extend credit to commercial borrowers. In addition, provides analysis and recommendation to conduct business with specific participation banks and vendors.
- Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.
- Archer (Process/Procedure) Control testing as assigned.
Education:
- College degree with preference for a major in Business / Accounting / Finance / Economics
- Lender will also consider experienced candidates without a post-high school degree
Experience:
- 1 year of commercial loan experience or general banking experience with preference for credit analysis experience.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of both financial and managerial accounting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
