Concierge/ Holistic/ Patient-Centered Family Practice
$25-$30 hour

Berkshire Center for Whole Health has an opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant / Administrative Support staff to join a highly patient-centered medical practice. The practice uses the membership model of medicine and, by design, has a small patient volume. Our Medical Assistant / Administration Support staff will work collaboratively with our cohesive team caring for patients of all ages and will be an integral part of the care provided.

Minimum Qualifications:

- 1-year Medical Assistant or Administrative experience in a medical office
- Preferred experience in a family practice medical office
- Medical terminology training preferred.
- Openness to and knowledge of the benefits of alternative medicine and integrative approaches
- Experience with specific modalities of integrative or holistic medicine preferred
- Highly proficient in a variety of computer software
- Preferred proficiency with patient scheduler software, accounting software, lab programs, and inter-office messenger
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Patient/Customer Service: greeting the patients, scheduling appointments both at the office and with other providers, answering the phones and managing the messages, advocating for the patient to get their needs met by the practice, acting as an extension of the provider
- Medical Assistance: Initial triage of patient complaints, readying rooms, opportunities for assistance with labs including phlebotomy and other sample collection; assisting with communications to patients (via calls & written letters)
- Membership Services: Interfacing with new patient inquiries; managing membership dues
- Administrative Services: Managing faxes, collecting mail, collecting co-pays, receiving payments for supplements, processing referrals, interfacing with labs and helping to package and send patient samples, engaging with special office projects ordering supplies and working with vendors.
