Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, the Director of Compliance and Advocacy is responsible for ensuring that the College is compliant with all federal and state laws and regulations including, but not limited to Title IX, ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Affirmative Action, Clery Act, VAWA, and FERPA. The Director of Compliance and Advocacy leads the College's compliance and advocacy initiatives. Working closely with General Counsel, the Director guides and consults with departments across the College to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities:
Review institutional policies and recommend changes, as needed, for alignment with state and federal regulations and best practices.
Partner with Departments and Divisions across the College, including Human Resources, Student Disability Services, Security, Registrar, Dean of Students, Athletics, and Assessment, to provide guidance and support for compliance.
Serve as the Title IX Coordinator including managing case intake, investigation and resolution processes for incidents involving students, faculty and staff.
Facilitate support measures and remedies to address complaints and recommend prevention programming, as appropriate.
Serve as a backup to the Dean of Students in their absence, including crisis case management for students, and serving as a conduct officer.
Serve as the administrator for the software program for both student conduct and Title IX related issues.
Develop and facilitate training and resources for faculty, staff and students in all areas of compliance.
Act as a visible resource for the entire campus community, promoting awareness of policies, resources and reporting mechanisms.
Serve as the Affirmative Action Officer for the College, consulting on application review for search committees.
Consult with Human Resources and supervisors, as required, and respond to employee requests for workplace accommodations, including collecting important documents, reviewing materials and creating a plan.
Work closely with General Counsel's office for assistance with case management and expertise on laws and compliance standards.
Act as representative for the College and participate in statewide meetings and campus committees related to compliance and advocacy.
Work with external vendors, advocacy groups and community and law enforcement organizations as needed.
Maintain thorough records, track relevant data and trends; provide reports as required
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a related field.
A minimum of five years of relevant experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a variety of individuals and manage highly sensitive and difficult matters.
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in application of federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to discrimination and harassment based on a variety of identities, including race, age, national origin, religion, sex, gender, disability, such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Affirmative Action, Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitative Act, and ADA., and compliance issues.
Experience in conflict resolution, investigations, and grievance procedures.
Ability to follow laws and regulations to make accommodation decisions.
Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information and manage complex and highly sensitive situations.
Experience in developing and presenting workshops.
Experience working in and supporting a diverse environment.
Ability to follow-up, follow-through, multi-task, set priorities and adhere to deadlines.
Experience working with faculty, staff and students in an educational environment.
Experience with conduct and case management software.

Source of Funding: State appropriation
Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 per year; Full-time: benefitted
