We are looking for a creative and analytical Buyer to join our growing Purchasing team. As a Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in our organization's procurement process, ensuring that we acquire the right products and services at competitive prices while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. This position involves analyzing market trends, negotiating contracts, and overseeing inventory levels to optimize our supply chain operations. You will collaborate closely with various departments, allowing you to make informed purchasing decisions that align with our business goals. Your expertise will not only help in managing costs and mitigating risks but also in ensuring we have the necessary resources to meet our operational demands. A successful Buyer will demonstrate excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make strategic decisions under pressure. Detailed Responsibilities
- Superior customer service! Where going above and beyond is the norm.
- Minimize inventory costs and maximize profit margins
- A professional presence that creates trust and credibility
- Analyze multiple reports, systems and databases to check inventory levels across all affiliate stocking locations to ensure items are properly stocked.
- Calculates and enters in stock replenishment orders to send to suppliers within parameters of the company ERP System and vendor policies.
- Processes branch requisitions, customer direct deliveries and purchase orders through ERP operating system.
- Prepare information, reports, and presentation materials, contributing to the organization's overall success
- Resolves customer back-order issues in a timely manner and in the most cost-effective way.
- Processes inventory returns to vendors for credit for excess, overstock or incorrect inventory.
- Maximizes all available pricing and freight discount programs for inbound stock purchase orders.
- Works closely with multiple departments to remedy discrepancies regarding inbound and outbound purchase orders.
- Investigate and identify where quantity and pricing do not align with demand or goals
- Tracks and updates scheduling of all purchase orders.
- Coordinates with Product Managers and Sales staff regarding the inventory levels of promotional items.
- Monitor and approve pricing updates with Suppliers
- Negotiate additional discounts beyond the standard to maximize profitability
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Background
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, and 2 years experience in related field or 5 years of experience in planning, procurement, or supply chain management
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data and trend analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems)
- High level of knowledge of demand-based inventory forecasting systems.
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with multiple departments, Independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple priorities
