About the Role:
The Assistant Camp Counselor plays a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for campers. This position involves supporting the lead counselors in planning and executing daily activities that promote teamwork, creativity, and personal growth among campers. The Assistant Camp Counselor will also be responsible for monitoring camper behavior and ensuring adherence to camp rules and safety protocols. By fostering positive relationships with campers, the Assistant Camp Counselor helps to build a sense of community and belonging within the camp. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall success of the camp experience, ensuring that each camper leaves with lasting memories and valuable skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in leading recreational activities or sports.
Responsibilities:
- Assist lead counselors in organizing and facilitating daily camp activities and programs.
- Supervise campers during activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Provide support and guidance to campers, helping them to develop social skills and confidence.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and staff to address any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to camp operations.
