About the Role:
As a Camp Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in creating a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for campers of various ages. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate activities that promote teamwork, personal growth, and outdoor skills while ensuring the well-being of each camper. You will serve as a mentor and role model, guiding campers through challenges and helping them develop new skills. Additionally, you will collaborate with fellow counselors and camp staff to plan and execute a diverse range of programs that cater to the interests and needs of the campers. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to a memorable camp experience that fosters lasting friendships and personal development.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous experience working with children in a camp or educational setting.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in leading outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, or team sports.
- Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to speak a second language.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with campers during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Plan, organize, and lead various recreational and educational activities, including arts and crafts, sports, and nature exploration.
- Provide guidance and support to campers, helping them navigate social interactions and personal challenges.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Collaborate with other counselors and staff to maintain a positive camp environment and uphold camp policies.
