Our Family Specialist plays a crucial role in coordinating therapeutic activities to ensure that youth can live safely, productively, and independently within their home community.
Key Responsibilities
We maintain positive partnerships with referring agencies, including:
- Coordinating required services for youth and families
- Maintaining timely and effective communication regarding case activities
In addition, our Family Specialist provides crisis intervention services for youth experiencing acute distress and dysfunctional behaviors to address safety concerns. This includes:
- Solution-focused crisis intervention
- Supportive case work counseling, including assessments, treatment, and discharge plans
- Psycho-educational groups as needed
We also facilitate comprehensive treatment reviews according to agency and state regulations, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field (Master's preferred)
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with diverse youth and families
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history
- The ability to work with economically and culturally diverse populations
