Job Title: Family Specialist
The Family Specialist coordinates therapeutic activities for youth and families, enabling them to live safely, productively, and independently within their community.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintains a positive partnership with the referring agency, coordinating required services for youth and families while ensuring timely and effective communication regarding case activities.
- Provides crisis intervention services for youth experiencing acute distress and dysfunctional behaviors to address safety concerns.
- Offers supportive case work counseling to youth and families, including assessments, treatment plans, and discharged plans.
- Covers psycho-educational groups as needed.
- Schedules and conducts home visits that are goal-oriented, aiming to build trust, communication, and healthy relationships.
- Facilitates comprehensive treatment reviews in accordance with agency and state regulations.
- Completes all necessary state-mandated and agency documentation, adhering to policy and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field is mandatory; a Master's in Social Work (MSW) is preferred.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with diverse youth and families is required.
- Must be able to adapt to a flexible schedule, including night and weekend hours as necessary.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history is essential.
- Ability to work effectively with economically and culturally diverse populations.
