Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math or a related field.
- Excellent presentation and summarizing skills.
- 2 years of experience with warehouse logistics, automation or industrial robotics.
- Experience working on teams bringing products to market.
- Patent(s) or novel and insightful solutions.
- Experience designing or coding features that went to market.
- Understanding of robotics and mechatronics.
- Experienced with post launch product support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal training, MBA or minor in Product Development or Product Management.
- 5 years work as a designer or programmer in the industrial product sector.
- Expert knowledge of warehouse operations or industrial robotics.
- Practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Robotic manipulation
- Sortation and conveyor
- Vision systems and sensors
- Feasibility and trade studies
- Entrepreneurial or early-stage company experience

The Product Development engineer is the primary interface and advocate between Engineering and the Product Org and Sales. Product Development engineers link the business need to technology. Product Development Engineers typically work on products and features 6-18 months prior to market launch. They evaluate market needs, brainstorm solutions, discover insights and evaluate technical feasibility. This role is collaborative with Engineering Product teams and typically generates content and makes decisions in conjunction with those teams.
Responsibilities
- Analyze proposed solutions for effectiveness to address market needs and technical viability.
- Refine high level product requirements and market goals into actionable units of technology.
- Create, update and maintain annual technology release plans for products.
- Present new technology internally and to customers to build understanding and elicit feedback.
- Evaluating, summarizing, ranking and building consensus of technical options.
- Participate in brainstorming, hack-a-thons and design reviews.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in warehouse robotics and enabling technology.
