Job Description
The solar general manager is responsible and accountable for direct oversight and management of BHER's solar energy projects through the entire project lifecycle. Located at the project job site, the solar general manager is responsible for the safe, cost effective and timely execution of project development, construction and commissioning of new solar generating plants.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the safe, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective project development, construction, commissioning, and operation and maintenance of the solar generating plant. Develop and direct programs designed to improve solar generating plant's performance in the areas of safety, efficiency, reliability, and environmental compliance.
- Ensures compliance with all environmental laws, policies and regulations governing work at the jobsite and on the project. Directly responsible for ensuring contractors performing construction work on site comply with all environmental and land use permit conditions. Reviews environmental scope, files permits and audits construction activities.
- Negotiates and participates in the development of contracts associated with the project (i.e. equipment purchase and consulting agreements).
- Maintains project schedules; provides performance and financial reporting to management; keeps management informed on specified frequency (i.e. weekly status reports, monthly reports). Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the community and stakeholders.
- Assists in the hiring of site maintenance personnel and conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine the competency, knowledge, and contribution of the site maintenance personnel.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
