Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related area. Typically, 5 years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.
Strong knowledge of insurance, surety, risk transfer, and loss prevention standards, techniques, and philosophies.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem solving, logical reasoning, priority setting, and goal development skills.
Ability to analyze, organize, and present complex information.
Excellent personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Strong knowledge of company's businesses and risk exposures.
Preferred Licenses, Certifications, Qualifications Or Standards
Associate in Risk Management Certification or active Property & Casualty insurance license preferred.
In addition to the above, the following qualifications are preferred for the Sr level analyst: Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.

- Receives policy renewal reports from insurance vendors, analyzes, and prepare renewal recommendations and present for approval.
- Assembles and organizes underwriting data requests, completes insurance applications, and creates underwriter submissions for insurance renewals.
- Ensures approved coverages are placed.
- Develops, prepares, and analyze insurance data, risk data, and financial reports for senior management, department managers, brokers, and state agencies.
- Processes premium invoices, and ensures accurate data is provided for tax purposes.
- Develops, analyzes, maintains, tracks, and reports information.
- Compiles, summarizes and develops trend data from internal and external resources.
- Draw conclusions from analyses for insurance purposes and in response to internal or external data requests.
- Conduct ad-hoc studies and quantitative analyses.
- Reviews contracts and evidence of insurance from third parties and determines compliance with company standards and contractual requirements.
- Recommend solutions to management and influences decisions.
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
