Responsibilities
The AVP Eastern Region Manager will be responsible for the distribution management for the Eastern Region, ensuring agents are aligned with Berkshire Hathaway Guard Insurance Company’s goals, appointing agents, and marketing GUARD's products and developing territories within the following states:
ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI, NJ, NY, PA, WV, OH, KY, DE, DC, MD, VA, NC, SC, FL, LA, MS, GA, AL, and TN.
- Oversee distribution management for the eastern region, aligning agents with Berkshire Hathaway's goals.
- Appoint agents and lead the marketing of GUARD's products and within specified states.
- Develop territories in the Eastern Region in collaboration with Vice President of Traditional Agency Relationships.
- Identify regional territory splits, working with regional managers and field Representatives to optimize profitability with production.
- Collaborate with regional mangers to focus on high-performing agencies, eliminating underperforming ones.
- Establish and maintain key agency relationships, providing regular reports on their productivity.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of some if not all states in the region, market conditions, competitor products, and agency networks.
- Technical expertise in marketing Workers Compensation, Businessoweners', Commercial Auto, and Umbrella Insurance.
- Experience with account packaging of small commercial business is a plus
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Excellent communication and management skills
- Organized with the ability to provide regular feedback to senior management
- Proficiency in various computer programs
- Willingness to travel by both car and air
