Overview
Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is currently seeking a full-time Legal Intern to join our summer cohort from June 2, 2025 through Aug 8, 2025 with the opportunity to continue part-time during the Fall and Spring semesters. As an intern you will be learning key fundamental business skills. You will be working in an incredibly fast-moving business environment and have the opportunity to make valuable contributions.
Responsibilities
The Legal Intern will assist various members of the Legal Department with tasks, which may include:
- Performing research and reporting on results
- Assisting with review of coverage matters or other insurance issues
- Assisting in the assembly of evidence, policies, and historical account of background on referrals
- Investigating issues which are referred to the Legal Department
- Responding to inquiries and gathering information from internal and external parties
- Assisting with opening, tracking and managing legal matters in our matter management systems
- Drafting or editing documents as required
Qualifications

- Preferred current student pursuing a Law degree, or a recent Law School Graduate
- Excellent research skills
- Ability to review matters, summarize major points, and propose a plan of action
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external parties
- Ability to work independently on individually assigned tasks
