Job Opportunity :

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for an IT professional who possesses extensive technical and delivery skills to join our Enterprise Business Solutions Team as a Senior Business Analyst. One primary responsibility in this role will be accountable for understanding the business requirements, system processing, implications and data needs of the Customer& Broker engagement function for rebuilding a customized, global analytics & intelligence solution. The successful candidate should have proven ability to deliver technology solutions to solve complex business issues. The role will partner with both Business leaders and IT resources across the globe to translate business needs into system requirements. The candidate must possess a passion for delivering value through technology. With time, this role will expand to support other functional areas.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Partner with Customer & Broker business partners to advise and shape projects to meet their needs. Elicit requirements using interviews, documentation analysis, requirements, and workshops
  • Develop business requirement documentation, use cases, mockup screen designs and workflow diagrams
  • Organize information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and present information in a manner that business customers can review and approve
  • Understand the strategic vision from business leaders, working with different teams within IT (Data, Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure) and transition to development / QA team
  • Work with teams that are geographically dispersed and comprised of all disciplines, such as architects, business analysts, developers and testers on the delivery
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, engage stakeholders to track delivery committed milestones
  • Engage in the development and execution of testing plans, documentation, and triage issues
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills in leading the project team in issue resolution

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience :

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Business Systems Analyst capacity supporting multiple projects / initiatives in the Insurance domain, or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in an agile environment, with a strong understanding of Agile principles / ceremonies, frameworks (Scrum / Kanban), and best practices
  • Strong understanding of Insurance policy platform. Ability to research and recommend solutions
  • Understanding of functional analysis and system design. Ability to create mockup screens, various kind of documentation
  • Competence in working with relational databases, data analysis and SQL scripting
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable liaising with remote users and vendors
  • Independently motivated with a “team player” mentality. Ability to offer flexibility while maintaining focus on solution delivery
  • Quick learner with ability to adapt to changing environment and strong customer service orientation

  • The base salary range for this position is from $90K – 120K along with annual bonus eligibility; a candidate’s salary is determined by their relevant skills and experience. We value our teammates – both their capabilities and character – as demonstrated by our amazing culture.

    Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
