Job Summary
The Primary Function of a Lead Safety and Security Officer at Berkshire Medical Center is to supervise and perform varied and specified tasks during designated times relating directly to the observation and documentation that all campus facilities, property and personnel are safe, secure and in accordance with developed policies and procedures of Berkshire Medical Center and the Safety & Security Department.
Experience
- Experience as a Security Officer, Correctional Officer, Military Experience/Military Police Officer or Police Officer
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
License & Certifications
- Valid Drivers License.
- De-escalation training within six months of accepting position
- CPR within six months of accepting position
Additional Requirements
- Ability to speak, read and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions with strong verbal communication and documentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to assess potentially violent situations and safely restrain patients and/or visitors when needed. must be able to react calmly and quickly to diffuse, unpredictable situations that may involve physical confrontation.
- Adaptability to occasional variations in shift commitment.
- Must comply with all Mandatory Hospital, JCAHO and Department education and training/competency requirements.
