What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pathway Program -Bio Med Technician II, Berkshire Medical Center, Shift; Days, 40 hrs. position at Berkshire Medical Center?
**This position is a student position to offer sponsorship in a Biomedical Technologist education program. Students will be in a full-time position, where they will work 16 hours per week, and receive 24 hours of school release pay. The student will attend an educational program for 15 months. Upon graduation they will maintain a full-time commitment with Berkshire Medical Center for 3 years. Berkshire Medical Center will assist the interested student in the application process for the education program.
Job Summary
Provide preventive maintenance, safety checks and repairs to numerous clinical instruments. Provide complete clinical equipment coverage to assigned departments. Provide assistance to level I technicians. Complete data entry for all work orders in department computer. Provide repairs to non-clinical equipment as assigned.
Experience
- Clinical Equipment Technician Level II should have a minimum 2 years experience at the staff level.
Education
- Associates degree in Biomedical Electronics or Electronic Technology Or equivalent (e.g. one year technical institute plus one year experience, military training)
License & Certifications
- Driver's License
Additional Requirements
- Well organized and able to handle a variety of complex assignments simultaneously.
- Demonstrated dependability.
- Must have a valid drivers license to service BHS offsite entities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Must be proficient in basic computer skills.

- Variable day hours.
