Job Summary
The Unit Coordinator portion of this position functions in a complimentary or assistive role to all members of the healthcare team and carries out individual duties in accordance with policies and procedures of Berkshire Medical Center. The Inventory Specialist portion of this position is primarily responsible for the update and maintenance of all endoscopy physician's performance cards in collaboration with the Clinical Team Leader (CTL), Director and Inventory Manager. In addition, is responsible for ordering and maintaining the endoscopy departments supplies, ensures that the equipment and scopes are maintained and repaired as needed, controls scheduling of sales representative visits and new product trials.
Experience
- Materials management experience in the endoscopy area is preferred.
- Proficient use of Meditech and Optiflex.
- One year of Secretarial or Clinical experience in a healthcare facility is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft EXCEL, WORD and Outlook.
Education
- High School graduate or equivalent is required.
- Associates Degree with computer training in inventory management or finance is preferred
License & Certifications
- CPR
Additional Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Endoscopy supplies and equipment.
- Ability to perform effectively in stressful situations.
- Demonstrated professional communications skills with patients, families, physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Must possess the ability to communicate clearly to patients and staff, both in speech and writing.
- Thorough knowledge of Meditech, , Fax and other BHS computer systems.
- Medical terminology or willingness to pursue.
- Poses and demonstrate excellent organizational skills necessary to complete complicated and multiple tasks accurately and concurrently.
- Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to maintain congenial and calm composure in stressful environment.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with BHS policy.
