Position Overview:

The Automotive Service Manager oversees the service department, ensures efficient and effective operations, and delivers exceptional customer service. This role involves managing service advisors, technicians, and support staff while maintaining high safety, quality, and profitability standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Customer Service Excellence:
• Interact with customers to understand their automotive service needs and provide exceptional service experience.
• Resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely and accurate customer communication regarding service updates, estimates, and completion times.
• Service Department Operations:
• Assist in the day-to-day operations of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Monitor and maintain service quality standards to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Collaborate with technicians to prioritize and schedule service appointments
• People Development:
• Support the training and development of service department staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
• Provide leadership and guidance to service advisors and technicians, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  
  

Who You Are: 

• You have at least two years of experience in automotive service operations, focusing on customer service.
• You have strong leadership and people management skills with a proven ability to motivate and develop a team.
• You have exceptional communication, organization, and follow-up skills that result in retaining customers and staff.
• You know automotive systems, parts, and service processes.
• You are proficient in computer systems and software relevant to automotive service management.
• You have the proven ability to coach, motivate, lead, and develop advisors and technicians.
• You have experience exceeding customer expectations on quality and are focused on retention for returning business.

Requirements:

• Automotive service writer experience (2 years)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
• Authorized to work in the United States
