Are you up for the opportunity of a lifetime? If so, we are seeking six (6) Supplier Development Specialists, who will build upon Berlin’s deep understanding of our suppliers’ capabilities and product offerings to ensure we can best match customer needs to the optimal stock or custom packaging solution. This role is responsible for reviewing existing data for accuracy and partnering with suppliers to both close data gaps and update Berlin’s systems with new item offerings. The role will involve learning new packaging terminology, becoming an expert in assigned suppliers’ offerings and existing data, and project managing supplier data collection.
Long-term, the role will include activities such as ensuring systems have up-to-date item data and supplier-related information, partnering with Sales to identify optimal packaging solutions for customer needs, developing supplier relationships, and conducting negotiations
Key Accountabilities:
- Catalogue and tag existing suppliers’ digital assets
- Create communication decks for supplier interactions
- Assist with supplier calls and learn about supplier capabilities
- Work with suppliers to capture required data and project manage stakeholders/outputs
- Review and update item data inputs as needed
- Partner with Sales to identify optimal packaging solutions for customer needs, including both stock and custom solutions
- Focus on creating and fostering supplier relationships which offer a mutually beneficial partnership
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and other contractual issues with suppliers
- Routinely meet with current suppliers to bring new and improved product solutions forward
- Ensure item- and supplier-related information are up to date in Berlin’s systems
- Fulfill employee portion of the Berlin Values by demonstrating a strong work ethic, teamwork, loyalty, innovation, productivity, and driving profitable results
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or master data within a distribution or manufacturing environment preferred
- CPM- or PMP-certified preferred, but not required
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to conduct results-based negotiations
- Ability to proactively address issues and deploy effective problem-solving techniques that address root cause issues
- Strong decision-maker with the ability to consider all alternatives and options and quickly implement appropriates action
- Ability to develop strong working relationships throughout Berlin and its supply base
- Knowledge of rigid packaging products is preferred
- Salesforce.com experience preferred
