ASSISTANT GIRLS GOLF COACH
POSITION SUMMARY :
Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the athletic coach provides supervision, instruction and leadership to students on athletic teams. Coaches play a crucial part in the development of student-athletes, fostering an environment that promotes personal growth, teamwork, and discipline both on and off the field.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES :
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for student-athletes.
- Focus on physical conditioning, skill development, and strategic gameplay.
- Plan, organize, and lead practice sessions, ensuring a safe and productive environment for all participants.
- Analyze individual and team performance during games and practice sessions.
- Identify areas for improvement and make adjustments as necessary.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes good sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Coordinate logistics for team travel, including transportation, accommodations, and meals for away games or tournaments.
- Engage with parents, school administrators, and community members to provide updates on the team's progress and garner support for the program.
- Manage the distribution, maintenance, and inventory of team equipment, uniforms, and supplies.
- Organize and oversee fundraising activities and events to support the team's financial needs and community engagement efforts.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY :
Candidates must hold a current / valid First Aid and Adult CPR certification along with a State of Connecticut Coaching certificate and have completed the Coaching Competencies Certification Course Mod. 15 for Concussion & Head Injury. Previous coaching experience in the sport preferred. Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills required.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Stipend of $4,354.00 in accordance with the negotiated agreement between the Berlin Education Association and the Berlin Board of Education. Coaches must complete all mandatory training requirements of public school employees.
