Berman Truck Group has an opening for a Regional Parts Manager, Western Pennsylvania. This individual will have operational responsibility for the companies Parts Department. The position will work with each location, the parts team to achieve growth goals and make the necessary decisions to maintain a profitable department.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Achieve an acceptable operating profit for the department by increasing sales and gross profit dollars while also being aware and managing expenses appropriately
2. Analyze the pricing strategies that balance volume, customer loyalty, and the cost of doing business
3. Actively identify prospects for volume sales (fleet operators or independent service and repair centers)
4. Supervise staff in accordance with policies and procedures, responsible for ensuring department safety, quality, productivity, and budget goals. Provide discipline and corrective action as required.
5. Evaluate and enforce department processes and Standard Operating Procedures. Recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process analysis.
6. Conduct interviews, hire new staff, involved with employee orientation, and ensure proper training and employee orientation is provided.
7. Coach, develop, empower, and motivate employees to be safe, productive, and efficient.
8. Set and maintain all housekeeping standards.
9. Uphold an appropriate and legal level of confidentiality of information, as deemed by the company.
10. Provide additional support to other Part Managers, supervisors and Service Managers as needed.
Job Tasks
1. Financial analysis of the Parts Department, to include
a. inventory turns, cycle counts and reconciliation (GL to Pad)
b. parts adjust - request, determine reason
c. gross margin by customer, manufacture, and product
d. excess and obsolete inventory
e. breakeven analysis, department expense control
f. freight cost incoming and outgoing
2. Manufacture/part fill rate, manage backorders and open orders
3. Daily inventory replenishment
4. Improving the sale, coaching parts department personnel
5. Maintain and achieve required training and certifications
6. Large volume purchase - collaborate on obtaining discounts
7. DTNA on-line platform: Excelerator, Excelerator Analytics, RIM PRO ect.
Sales and Customer Relations
1. Create and maintain superior positive relationships with all customers; handle any customer complaints with courtesy and professionalism in an expeditious manner
2. Investigate and establish course of action for filling customer part order
3. Know the local market potential, customers, vendors, and competition
4. Keep customers informed of any delayed order progress in person, by phone or email.
5. Solicit additional parts business by phone and personal contact on a regular basis. Develop and foster a relationship with the outside truck sales and service department personnel
Financial Responsibilities
1. Review and compare monthly financials
2. Maintain financial goals; make necessary adjustments to achieve departmental goals
3. Counsel employees and do periodic performance reviews within company guidelines.
4. Assist in collection of past due invoices as needed
5. Handle all customer, employee, and vendor issues in a professional and courteous manner.
6. Review and expedite customer orders
Position Requirements
1. Consistent track record of successfully meeting and exceeding goals
2. Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
3. Minimum 7-10 years of automotive/trucking parts management experience
4. Valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
5. Must be able to work in harmony with other department and corporate managers.
6. Must possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and be reliable

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
