Janitorial Lead Cleaner
Location: Orlando
Employment Type: Full-Time.
Compensation: $17.00/hr. FLSA Non-Exempt.
Supervisor: Janitorial Supervisor.
The Lead Janitorial Cleaner will oversee and participate in maintaining a clean and orderly environment within the assigned facilities. This role involves supervising cleaning tasks, ensuring hygiene standards, and coordinating with team members to maintain an efficient workflow. A typical work week will consist of 40 hours a week.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform and supervise cleaning tasks, such as sanitizing restrooms, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming floors, and dusting surfaces.
- Lead the team in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across all common areas, including toilets, sinks, floors, kitchens, and workspaces.
- Monitor and replenish supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, and soap as needed.
- Ensure trash receptacles are emptied, and liners are replaced regularly.
- Inspect the facility for maintenance and repair needs, reporting issues promptly to the Janitorial Supervisor.
- Train and guide team members on proper cleaning protocols and safety standards.
- Handle special cleaning assignments and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning and inspection tasks.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and proper usage.
- Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor over extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members.
- Solid organizational skills to manage tasks and delegate responsibilities.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a janitorial or cleaning role, with leadership experience strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in varying environments, such as cold weather, rain, or heat.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Capability to climb stairs, ramps, or ladders when necessary.
- Ability to perform physical tasks required for cleaning and maintenance.
