About this Role

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) - Software Sales (SaaS), you will play a critical role in driving BerniePortal’s growth by generating new business opportunities. You will be responsible for prospecting, qualifying leads, and setting up meetings for the Account Executive team. The ideal candidate is passionate about sales, possesses excellent communication skills, and has a strong drive to succeed. This role allows the opportunity to grow into an Account Executive position.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base : $24.25 / hr ($50,000 annualized)

Non-exempt role (hourly)

  • Overtime eligibility based on business needs
  • On-Target Earnings (with commission) : $80,000

    Full health and ancillary benefits, including HSA and Dependent Care FSA

    Employer-paid Life, Short-Term, and Long-Term Disability insurance

    401(k) with employer match (eligible after 3 months of employment)

    Responsibilities

    Make outbound sales calls and emails to engage prospective clients

    Qualify leads and conduct initial conversations to secure meetings for the Account Executive team

    Educate prospects about BerniePortal's HRIS and payroll solutions, highlighting the benefits and value proposition

    Maintain accurate and detailed records of all prospect interactions and activities in the CRM system.

    Continuously stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics to effectively position BerniePortal in your prospecting activities

    Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly targets for qualified meetings set

    Ideal Candidate

    Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or equivalent experience

    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts effectively.

    Excellent listening and interpersonal skills to engage prospects and build rapport.

    Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong desire to achieve and exceed targets.

    Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changes.

    Bonus : previous experience in sales development or inside sales, preferably in the software-as-a-service (SaaS) industry.
