Network Engineer – Independence, OH (Hybrid)
We are seeking a dynamic Network Engineer to join our client in Independence, OH. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing voice and data networking solutions across multiple data centers, production facilities, and offices. The ideal candidate will ensure network reliability, security, and performance while supporting business-critical operations.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring expertise in network architecture, administration, and troubleshooting across enterprise environments. The Network Engineer will also be responsible for evaluating and implementing emerging networking technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless access points, and monitoring tools.
- Ensure high availability and security of network systems across the enterprise.
- Monitor and resolve network performance and communication issues proactively.
- Support network integration with industrial control systems such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and I/O devices.
- Administer and troubleshoot VoIP systems and video conferencing solutions.
- Maintain network security configurations and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
- Develop and document network disaster recovery procedures.
- Provide escalation support for network-related incidents and participate in on-call rotation.
- Stay up to date with new technologies and recommend improvements for network infrastructure.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
- 5 years of professional experience in network engineering.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Expertise in LAN, WAN, wireless, VLANs, QoS, and dynamic/static routing.
- Experience with next-generation firewalls, IPS, and network security policies.
- Strong knowledge of SD-WAN, iWAN, or DMVPN solutions.
- Familiarity with virtualized environments (VMware preferred).
- Experience with VoIP administration (on-premises or cloud solutions).
- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
