Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Nurse to provide exceptional care to patients in their final stages of life. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and a deep understanding of hospice and palliative medicine. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to hospice patients, focusing on pain management and symptom control.
- Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring safe and effective medication administration practices.
- Conduct assessments of patient needs, including physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients' families regarding end-of-life care options and processes.
- Assist with procedures such as spinal taps, CT scans, or other necessary interventions as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and progress in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Advocate for the needs and preferences of patients, ensuring their wishes are respected throughout the hospice journey.
- Attend IDG Meetings every 14 days.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license is required; experience in hospice or palliative care is preferred.
- Strong background in palliative care is a plus.
- Proficiency in medication administration and patient care practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work compassionately under pressure while maintaining professionalism at all times.
