ASSISTANT ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER – BERNARDS TOWNSHIP HEALTH DEPARTMENT – SOMERSET COUNTY is seeking an experienced Assistant ACO to work part-time, in an On Call capacity. The Assistant ACO enforces the laws and ordinances regulating the keeping of animals within the township and contracting communities. Responsibilities include the handling, capturing, and compassionate care and well-being of impounded animals. May be required to handle vicious or rabid animals. Respond to calls from Police and Health Department when needed for after hour and weekend emergencies 24 hours/7 days a week. May provide business hour coverage for Animal Control Officer during their absence. NJ State Certified ACO certification required. Applicants must have education and/or experience equivalent to High School diploma and a valid NJ driver’s license.
