The Rework-Repack Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the repacking operations within Berner Food & Beverage. This role involves supervising rework-repack staff, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and optimizing the repacking processes to maintain product quality and efficiency. This individual will ensure assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, following customer policies and requirements, and recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, safety, operating procedures, and working conditions.
The Rework-Repack Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the people, processes, and equipment in the department associated with delivering quality repacked products on time to our customer orders and executing any quality rework needs of the business. Responsibilities include but are not limited to training and work execution of their direct reports; possessing excellent time management skills; oversight of job scheduling, inventory, and ERP system transactions; and having a flexible work schedule to meet and support the demands of a fast-paced environment. A hands-on leadership style for training and support of the operations team is essential.
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage rework-repack team, providing training and guidance to ensure the rework-repack team are performing all duties assigned to them along overall development of the team.
· Instill a continuous improvement mindset within the rework-repack that includes methods and processes to improve specific work functions for the team.
· Ensure all shifts are scheduled accordingly for and assign tasks to ensure optimal workflow.
· Inspect reworked-repacked products in assurance with quality control, quality assurance, and supplier quality ensuring they meet all customer specifications and standards.
· Has an understanding of supply chain, inventory, and procurement order processes.
· Ability to collaborate with other departments within Berner (operations/production, warehousing, quality, procurement, maintenance, and sales) to achieve goals and objectives.
· Monitor the rework-repack processes and SOPs along with identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed
· Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies along with customer specifications.
· Lead efforts to continuously control costs, improve efficiency, increase production for rework-repack lines, and ensure profitability from the team for the company.
· Ensures and leads production changeover within the rework-repack team along with reviewing and updating documentation.
· Ensure, review, update, and verify repack inventory in accordance with the rework schedule.
· Ensuring product integrity/quality throughout repack by using established HACCP and Quality Control Points.
· Collaborates and communicates with the Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Supplier Quality teams to ensure compliance with all quality SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and Policies.
· Supports the Quality and other technical departments with any audits, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) Certifications, SQF, or any customer-specific audits.
· Maintain accurate records/files of rework-repack files of items, including quantities and any discrepancies. Ensure quantities match the quantities communicated to the customer.
· Tracks productivity numbers for specific rework lines and drives the rework-repack team to exceed efficiency standards.
· Have knowledge of Berners’ Co-Manufacturing Customers including customer needs, product strategy, and customer specifications.
· Ensures all areas of the rework-repack lines are meeting sanitary guidelines and following SSOP (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures) policies.
· Maintain and Improve (Run Rates) and OEE for each rework-repack line along with understanding attainment numbers and goals.
· Ensure all equipment and reworked-repacked products utilization based on limiting downtime and equipment optimal speed. Communicate effectively with the Maintenance team to ensure equipment is operating/functioning effectively and properly.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in a Technical or Managerial field of expertise. (relevant experience may substitute for a degree).
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a related industry. Good overall knowledge of safety, sanitation, manufacturing operations, and quality.
• Team player. Can work with other employees, departments, and customers on adequate resolution of issues and successful project completion. Can develop teams as needed to develop the organization.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate basic software programs
• Well-developed conflict resolution skills.
• Attention to detail, self-motivated, good communicator with an elevated level of integrity. Ability to give and receive praise and areas of improvement
• Familiarity/willingness and able to become familiar with LSS tools and fundamentals such as 5Why’s, RCA, CIL, Process Controls, etc.
• Ability to work in an environment that values being lean and agile in day-to-day operations.
• Comfortable with change and ability to be a positive force for change.

Pay range: 65000-80000k/salary with benefits (medical, vision, dental, 401k)
