* The warehouse lead will be required to move between different warehouse locations within Berner Food & Beverage as needed to complete their work. The warehouse lead must be comfortable and capable of performing warehouse lead duties at multiple locations, and just not the single location at Sheppard Trail.
Summary:
The Warehouse Lead is a hands-on working lead position who is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of all warehouse functions including but not limited to shipping, receiving, inventory accuracy, documentation, maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and required documentation per standard operating procedures. The warehouse lead will work autonomously at the Sheperd Trail to meet KPIs and job requirements including strong communication with logistics, off-site warehouses, and leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain, inspect, and ensure all warehouse equipment is operational and following all safety requirements
• Ensure warehouse personnel are effectively trained and performing their job tasks with safe behaviors, using proper PPE, and following all safety procedures.
• Must follow all company quality and compliance policies for warehousing. Must be knowledgeable of GMPs, SQF, AIB, and HAACP requirements to maintain an audit-ready environment.
• Lead warehouse associates in scheduling, prioritizing, and executing daily work per standard operating procedures. Also, completes these tasks himself/herself.
• Verify the accuracy of inbound or outbound shipments, receipts, and documentation. Follow up to correct or escalate any discrepancies.
• Maintain a neat, organized warehouse using bin locations. Complete cycle counts/bin audits and corrective actions for any inventory discrepancies identified.
• Enter and maintain accurate records of inventory through the ERP system
• Work with logistics, production, and Baxter warehouse to maintain a shift/daily inbound/outbound schedule with accurate trailer tracking. Provide guidance to the logistics team on needed trailer movements.
Report daily progress and develop a recovery plan if fall behind.
• Work with Inventory Supervisor and Operations Finance Manager to address any inventory out-of-stock or disposition needs.
• Communicate effectively with maintenance and warehouse manager on any equipment or building work requests/repair needs. Maintain daily log of all equipment verifying they are accurate and up to date.
• Work with warehouse employees to ensure all cleaning and GMP-required standard work is completed.
• Provide any required shift/weekly/monthly reporting to leadership
• Help solve problems or make informed decisions that meet or improve the safety, quality, service, and productivity of the warehouse.
• Complete cross-training to back-up warehouse and other functions, when necessary.
• Complete required computer tasks.
• Must be able to flex job requirements to the Baxter warehouse and/or Dakota plant in times of reduced workload to Shepherd Trail.
Enforce all security protocols.
Education/and of Experience:
• Preferred Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in leading others and working autonomously is preferred.
• Fork truck operation experience required. Preferably stand up.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP. SAP experience is helpful.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of associates, managers, customers, and the general public.
Physical Demands /Work Environment:
· Work is performed in a warehouse and some outdoor trailer/yard environments.
· Work activities include a normal range of motion. May be required to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 70 pounds.
· A full range of body motion is required on the job to include frequent sitting, bending, stooping, crouching, lifting, carrying, grasping, pinching, feeling, walking, standing, climbing, driving, pushing/pulling, handling, balancing, and reaching on all planes.
· Fine motor coordination, fine finger dexterity, manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination are required.
· Seeing (naturally or with correction), listening, hearing, talking, communicating, spatial, form and depth perception, color discrimination, and field vision is also needed.
· Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of legs, feet, arms, hands and fingers, and tools and equipment.
· May be exposed to excessive temperatures, noise, dirt/dust, hazardous chemicals, traffic hazards, variable light, vibration, and moving machinery or equipment.
· May be required to wear a protective hard hat, reflective clothing, earwear, eyewear, gloves, footwear, or other required protective attire.
Pay Range: $19.00-22.00 - Hourly (based on experience); For the PM shift there is a $1.00 Shift Differential for this position.
