Mechanical Engineer

At Berners Schober, we design with integrity and purpose, to create spaces that inspire. Our Mechanical Engineers are directly involved and responsible for the planning, designing, and engineering of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for educational, health care and/or commercial buildings. 

Key Accountabilities

• Communicates project objectives, challenges, and scope with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects (often concurrently), working closely with all stakeholders to ensure we achieve deadlines while delivering a quality product
• Research and specify products, equipment, and systems to meet client expectations
• Conduct calculations of heating/cooling load, ventilation quantities and equipment selection for building mechanical systems
• Conduct assessment of existing systems and provide recommendations for refurbishment or replacement

Education & experience requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• PE license in WI, required
• PE license in IL, preferred
• 10 years of experience in a mechanical engineering, preferred
• HVAC experience, required
• Prior healthcare experience, preferred
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Revit experience is a plus
