The Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer reports to the Senior Plumbing Designer and is responsible for developing plumbing and fire protection solutions for design projects while participating as an integral member of the project team.

The Plumbing & Fire Protection Designer reports to the Senior Plumbing Designer and is responsible for developing plumbing and fire protection solutions for design projects while participating as an integral member of the project team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily design and technical development of projects.
- Maintain client contact on active projects to address needs.
- Oversee production of construction documents.
- Prepare specifications for all phases of design.
- Assist project managers to develop large infrastructure needs and budgets.
- Assist project managers with scope and budget reports.
- Perform plumbing and fire protection facility studies.
- Produce addendum drawings, participate in RFI answers, shop drawing reviews, and complete project close-out documents.
- Proactively work with supervisors to seek out continuing education and leadership development opportunities.
- Perform plumbing calculations and prepare worksheets for submittals to DSPS-WI.
- Licensed Plumbing or Fire Protection Designer in WI, preferred.
- 5 years of experience, preferred.
- Certified in Plumbing / Fire Protection design, (CPD, NICET Certificate), LEED Accredited, preferred.
- Experience with Revit MEP and AutoCAD, required.
- Familiarity with BIM360, Bluebeam, and MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), preferred.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines and schedules.
- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required to sites for existing condition verifications.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
