As an Inside Upholsterer for Bernhard, you will be at the heart of our operations, responsible for:
- Upholstering the interior sections of chairs and sofas
- Ensuring the highest quality and adherence to design specifications.
- Apply poly parts and cotton/dacryon to the frame, shaping the inside arms, inside back, and seat as required.
- Secure the fabric to one of the inside components using tacks, ensuring proper alignment.
- Stretch and shape the fabric over the component, adjusting tautness to achieve the desired feel, appearance, and pattern alignment.
- Permanently affix the fabric with staples, ensuring a tight and secure fit.
- Repeat the process for each component until the entire piece is upholstered.
- Set the finished unit aside for the cell assembler to move to the next stage.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment.
- Experience: At least three years of experience in upholstery is preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in using hand tools
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to furniture production.
- Ability to work with power tools for assembly.
- Education: A certification in upholstery or a related field is preferred but not required.
