Position Overview: As a Horticulture Team Member, you will contribute to maintaining the aesthetic and functional quality of our clients’ landscapes. You will work alongside a team performing a variety of horticultural tasks, ensuring that all work is completed to high standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools, executing seasonal upkeep activities, and adhering to company standards for horticultural excellence.
Essential Functions:
- Utilize hand tools such as pick, shovel, bed edgers, trimmers, cultivators, pruners, loppers, blowers, weed whippers, chainsaws, pole pruners, and ladders proficiently and safely.
- Maintain the overall look and feel of clients’ properties using practical and proven horticultural techniques for horticultural excellence.
- Manage seasonal upkeep activities including manual weeding, landscape tool usage, and other maintenance methods as required.
- Install annuals, weed landscape beds, trim shrubs, and prune ornamental plants according to specified requirements.
- Ensure all assignments are completed within labor goals while meeting job quality performance expectations in accordance with company standards.
- Anticipates needs to complete tasks efficiently within allocated budget, production rates, and timelines.
Required Qualifications:
- 1 year of landscape experience, including leadership of a team.
- Proficiency in the use of basic landscape and relevant tools.
- Knowledge of seasonal clean-ups, garden bed care, annual flower plantings, bed edging, and mulching.
- Capability to follow directions and execute tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
- Aptitude to learn and adapt to new techniques and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Chauffeur’s License or ability to obtain before the first day of employment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods of time.
