Brandywine Community Schools is seeking an Elementary Counselor for our Grades K-2 building. The Counselor will assist and support students with their unique academic, social and emotional needs. This position works closely with the building Principal, building staff, and district behavior intervention team.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS CONSIDERED :
- Michigan School Counselor License (SCL)
- Michigan Teaching Certificate with the School Counselor (NT) endorsement
- Preliminary School Counselor Credential (PSCC)
- Eligibility for a Temporary School Counselor License (TSCL)
REQUIREMENTS :
Master's Degree in education and / or school counseling preferredBachelor's Degree in education, counseling, social work, or other human services field requiredMust serve as a positive role model for students and model professional and ethical standardsExceptional interpersonal communication, computer and organizational skillsMaintain accurate documentation for student case management and reportingAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to remain calm in stressful and / or crisis situationsExperience working with the MTSS framework preferredUnderstanding of the whole child philosophyRESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide Tier I and Tier II social and emotional learning lessons and support for students, in alignment with district systemsServe as a collaborative member of the Student Assistance Team to implement behavior and academic interventions when necessaryAttend professional conferences and workshops related to the overall guidance programProvides culturally responsive individual and small group counseling to students with identified concerns and needsResponds effectively to crises affecting students and facultyDevelops and maintain contacts with social service, law enforcement, private and public agenciesResponsible for caseload students, in particular at-riskAbility to advocate for students with teaching colleaguesMonitor / adjust student Educational Development Plans (E.D.P), assist with state testing, and serve on building leadership committees to implement P.B.I.SPOSITION POSTED UNTIL FILLED

Salary Rate Range Minimum starting salary $43,500 BA and $46,000 MA. Salary commensurate with experience according to the BDEA salary schedule - full benefit package offered
