- Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of assigned vehicles to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Emergency Procedures: Participate in regular emergency evacuation drills to stay prepared for unexpected situations.
- Rider Safety: Provide clear instructions to passenger riders on safety protocols and procedures.
- Defensive Driving: Operate vehicles defensively under varying traffic conditions and inclement weather to minimize risks.
Requirements:
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation.
- Stay up-to-date on state laws and local ordinances related to vehicle operation and passenger safety.
- Cultivate strategies for managing exuberant behavior characteristics common among youthful riders.
- Administer disciplinary procedures in accordance with district policies to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Exercise good judgment and remain alert during emergencies and day-to-day operations.
- Conduct bus evacuations as required by Transportation Management.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, submitting them in a legible condition and within specified timeframes.
